RULES
Boys are expected to adhere to the College
Code of Conduct and Rules
when using the libraries.
The following rules also apply:
Wodehouse Library
- Bags may be brought into the library but should be kept under desks out of the way
- The consumption of food and drink
is forbidden
- Personal stereos
and mobile phones may not be used
- Quiet conversation
is permitted in the Periodicals Room and IT/issue area; silence must be observed
at all times in the main inner room
- Returns should
always be made via the returns slot in the library issue desk; or, when the
library is closed, the returns box outside
- Periodicals and reference items may not be taken out of the library
- Library users
are expected to treat the stock with due care. Books should not be annotated
or written in; videos and cassette tapes should be rewound after use
- Equipment in
the audio-visual room may only be used for viewing videos or listening to
music directly related to academic study. A library card should be presented
and headphones used
- Those wishing
to play chess should first ask the librarian; spectators should be quiet and not block the stairs
- Use of computers is governed by our Guidelines
Lower School Library
- Bags should
be left outside the library on the bag rack provided. Items of particular
value may be left with the librarians for
safe-keeping
- Food and drink
are forbidden in the library
- Personal stereos and mobile phones may not be used
- Quiet conversation
is permitted in all areas during break time; there may be a silent period during the lunch break
- Returns should
always be made via the returns box on the library issue desk; or, when the
library is closed, the returns box outside the Lower School Secretarys
office
- Periodicals and reference items may not be taken out of the library
- Library users
are expected to treat the stock with due care. Books should not be annotated
or written in, book marks should be used; videos and cassette tapes should
be rewound after use
- Audio equipment may only be used for listening to spoken word cassettes.
A library card should be presented and headphones used
Lost or Damaged Items
Library staff should be informed as soon as possible if an item is thought to
be lost. The replacement cost will be charged, along with any outstanding fines
and, in certain cases, a service charge. Charges may also be made for damaged
items.
